I have been to Mexico a couple of times and I noticed that every car driver has an image of Maria or Jesus or some saint hanging on their rearview mirror. From this and other things I had this same perception too. Maybe it is rather superstition than belief in the dogmas of a church. Anyway, in Mexico such things are much more present than it would be thinkable in Europe. |

what do you think about so called "satanism".
a lot of people here think the best way to protest against christianity, is to "believe" in satan.
they dress themselves black, wear a turned cross and things like that
i got the impression in mexico its the same or even worse.
what do you think about that and whats the real situation in mexico?

Well I´m way beyond that. You see I have publicly admited that I´m an atheist, so in my circule of friends and relatives that is well known, ergo they do not try to evangelise me any more.
I supose that only those who have not yet publicly admited their atheism have that problem. |
Strange, I got exactly the opposite problem: Just because I've admitted to them that I'm an atheist, relatives and acquaintances unceasingly bug me with their god (because they want to lead me back to the "Righteous Path" and to the One True Church (TM)). Additionally, in their strange world-view atheism and Satanism is essentially the same...

In Mexico we call those type of weirdos "Darketos", basically they are not satan worshipers, but they dress the same way as you describe. The so called Darketos just dress that way because it is the latest fashion in Mexico, in other words they are idiots who do not know what they are doing.

Well, at first they will try to that, but eventually they will stop. It's only a matter of time.
